These are the questions Alberta trades owners ask most often, answered plainly. The short version: plans start at $1,999 per month, there's no long-term contract, you own your accounts, nobody can promise leads, and we measure every city you serve separately. The details are in the answers on this page.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
Growth costs $1,999 a month, Elite $3,999 and Enterprise $7,999 when billed month by month; annual billing brings Growth down to $1,499. Add 5% GST if you're a Canadian client.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. You can stop any plan by giving 30 days' notice, and nothing locks you in for a year unless you pick annual billing for its lower rate.
How quickly will I see results?
Tracking gives you useful numbers within a month or two. Ads can produce calls within weeks. Organic search takes longer, often several months, and longer in Calgary and Edmonton than in regional cities.
Can you promise a set number of leads or a ranking?
No, and nobody honest can. We show you the maths behind the plan, what our HVAC work achieved and exactly how we'll measure each market.
We tried an agency before and got nothing. Why would this be different?
We can't promise it will be. What we do differently is measure each Alberta city separately, so you can see which markets work, and report in booked jobs rather than clicks. If something isn't working, the report says so.
Who owns the website and accounts?
You do. Your Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics are set up in your business name, and we're given access. If you leave, you keep them and their history; the details of website ownership are written in your proposal.
Can you get us into the map results in a city where we have no office?
Sometimes, but Google weighs business location heavily for map results. In cities where you have no genuine location, we rely more on organic city pages, ads and referral relationships, and we won't set up fake addresses.
Do you run a referral network that sends us jobs?
No. We don't list member firms, sell leads or route jobs. We help you build your own written, disclosed referral relationships with firms you choose in other cities.
Do referral partners have to pay each other?
That's for you and your partner to decide, ideally with your lawyer. Whatever you agree, write it down and tell customers about it before they hire the other firm.
Do you do any trade work?
No. Nobody at Alberta.Network does installs, repairs or service calls. We handle the marketing side and give owners business advice, nothing more.
Do you meet clients in person?
Yes. Consultations are available in person or by video call, as well as by phone, text and email, and you deal with the same senior strategist wherever in Alberta you are.
What do you need from me to start?
Your list of cities served, rough job values and margins, how calls are answered today, and access to any existing ad or analytics accounts. A first conversation covers it.
Do you work with trades other than HVAC?
Yes. We work with plumbing, electrical, roofing, renovation and other trades businesses. Every public case study we have comes from heating and HVAC firms, and we label it as such.
Before you hire anyone, check three things
Whether you work with us or another firm, these checks will save you money.
- Who owns the accounts? If an agency sets up your Google Business Profile or ad account in its own name, leaving becomes painful. Insist on your own name.
- What gets reported? Clicks and impressions are easy to inflate. Ask for booked jobs and cost per booked job, by city.
- What happens if it doesn't work? A good answer includes a stop rule and a notice period you can live with. Ours is 30 days.
Questions specific to working across Alberta
Multi-city work raises questions that single-city businesses never face. Can you appear in the Red Deer map results from a Calgary base? Usually not strongly, which is why we use city pages and ads there instead. Should every outlying market get a full service list? Usually not; far-away cities often get only high-value jobs. Should you turn away calls from beyond your range? Better to refer them under written terms, as explained on the out-of-area referrals page.
The areas page explains how each Alberta region differs, and the guides go deeper on the maths and the page structure.
Questions about cost and value
The price question is really a question about payback. Take your average booked job, multiply by your gross margin, and divide the monthly plan price by that figure. The answer is the number of extra jobs a month the plan has to produce to cover itself. For a $1,999 plan and jobs that leave $400 of margin, that's five jobs. Spread across three Alberta cities, it's under two per city.
If that number looks out of reach, say so in the first conversation. We'd rather start narrower, with tracking and one market, than sell you a plan your numbers can't support. The pricing page shows every plan, and the second-city maths guide shows how travel changes the sum.
Questions about switching from another agency
Owners who've been let down before usually ask the same three things: will we lose what we already have, how long until we know if this is working, and what happens to our data. The honest answers are that we start by securing your accounts in your own name, that tracking gives a first per-city picture within a month or two, and that your listings, ad history and analytics stay yours whatever you decide. We'll also tell you which parts of the previous work are worth keeping; usually some are.
Questions about referrals
Referral questions come up more on this site than anywhere else, because the multi-city model depends on them. The short answers: we don't supply partners, we don't route jobs, and every arrangement should be written down and disclosed to customers. The referral log guide shows how to run one week to week.
Questions about Alberta rules
We get asked about permits, licensing and certification. We'll point you to official sources such as Alberta's safety codes overview and the province's hiring a contractor guidance, and we'll make sure your marketing doesn't make claims you can't back up. We don't give compliance or legal advice, so confirm specifics with the authority or your lawyer.
Still have a question?
Call, text or email and ask. Messages that reach us outside Mon–Fri 9–6 Pacific are picked up on the next working day, and we usually reply within one business day. The contact page explains what to include, and the pricing page has the full plan details.
